Tomorrow

Tomorrow Sue and I will walk from Orton to Kirkby Stephen. Everyone promises that this is a very nice walk with beautiful views and grassy paths. After our experiences in the Lake District we have gotten wiser and have asked ever local person we meet about any bad walking ahead. It seems like there are two pretty bad spots left in our remaining ten days. One day the path has been described as so boggy that walkers sink into mud above your ankles for most of the walk. Another day near the end looks like it has elevations nearly as bad as the Lake District. We are seriously considering limiting our walking to browsing around the lovely little village and catching a ride to our next B&B. If we have learned anything on this trip it is the need to be flexible and to not try and take on more than we are capable of.
