Days 2 & 3

We did it!  Yesterday, Mary Ellen led the charge up the steep climb of Loft Beck & today,Sue the ascent of Greenup Edge. Unbelievable days-10.5 hours of gruelling hikes.  Just when we needed angels, our dear Germans, Sonja and Ralf, appeared . The scenery spectacular, the people simply loverly, our legs and feet weary, begging for rest, so we will be tourists in Grasmere tomorrow. Thank you, supportive friends & family for being here when we most need you!

    Looks beautiful! When I envisioned your trip I was thinking you were planning leisurely walks through a few fields and a small British town, then sipping wine at lunch and more at dinner. Geez - you went all out! Cheers!

    I am very proud of both of you. I feel exhausted just watching you climbing those hills. I'm glad you met up with some friends along the way. Looking foward to next pictures as you trek through fields and pastures. How many miles so far? Everett
