Day 4 of the Amazing Adventures of Mary Ellen and Sue

Day 4 has been our first rest day and like every other day it has had some real high points and some rather low ones. After a wonderful nights sleep in a beautiful B&B in Grasmere we spent the perfect day browsing the little village and visited Dove Cottage the home of William Wordsworth. We even found a yarn sho. Michael our host arranged for us to get a taxi to Patterdale. Our taxi driver was a wealth of information and gave us a guided tour the entire trip. We did notice that the mountains continue to get higher and higher and are glad we are not scaling any of them. Now for the low point, we have landed at a very, very seedy B&B at the end of a dead end road in the middle of nowhere. We are not sure where we will find food and Sue is pacing around our closet size room trying to figure out how we will get out of here tomorrow. We thought out worst moments were on the mountain tops!

  1. Our thoughts and prayers are with you both. Love the pictures and would love to see some of the sites. I can't imagine how hard the walking part must be, but it is a ONCE in a lifetime event. It will give you both something to talk about for a long time. God's protection to you both....Mike and Peggy
